Town of Sharpsburg, North Carolina

Mayor Williams called the meeting to order.

Tracy Sullivan, Town Clerk called the roll.

COMMISSIONERS PRESENT
Commissioner Sharpe, Commissioner Pride, Commissioner O’ Neal, Commissioner Lewis (arrived after roll call).

CLOSED SESSION
Motion was made by Commissioner Pride to go into closed session pertaining to Fire Contract.� Motion was seconded by Commissioner O’Neal.

OPEN SESSION
Motion was made by Commissioner Pride to go into open session and the motion was seconded by Commissioner Lewis.

Commissioner O’Neal made the motion that the Town enter into Draft #3 of the contract with the Fire Department with the following additions:

Paragraph 5 be revised to require the Fire Department to send a representative to each Town Board meeting to give a report on the number of call responded to in the previous month, the nature of the fire or first responder call, and other activities of the Department during the month.

Paragraph 15 of the 2^nd Draft restored to put in the first sentence that the Town requires the Fire Department to present its proposed budget by February 1, 2008.

The Motion was seconded by Commissioner Sharpe.
