Regular Meeting - April 3, 2007

Mayor Sheila Williams called the meeting to order and Sonya Meeks, Town Administrator offered invocation. Tracy Sullivan, Town Clerk called the roll.

COMMISSIONERS PRESENT
Commissioner Michael Jones, Commissioner William Sharpe, Commissioner Mary Lewis, Commissioner Cheryl O’Neal, and Commissioner David Pride.

APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES AND APPROVAL TO PAY THE BILLS

Motion was made by Commissioner Pride to approve the Minutes of the Regular Meeting held on March 6, 2006. The motion was seconded by Commissioner O’Neal.
Motion was made by Commissioner Lewis to approve to pay the bills. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Jones.

Bank Balances were read by Tracy Sullivan, Town Clerk.

CITIZENS PETITIONS AND COMPLAINTS

a. Bobby Vick - Citizen Vick was concerned about Juveniles that are gathering around his residence on Lincoln Street. Chief Bissette asks that Citizens call in to the Police Department anytime they see misconduct of Juveniles.

b. Louise Harrison - Citizen Harrison was also concerned with Juveniles gathering around her residence on 601 Martin Luther King Circle. Mayor Williams suggested that the citizens form a Community Watch Program.

NEW BUSINESS
a. Motion was made by Commissioner Jones to adopt the resolution (read by Sonya Meeks) presented by Wilson County, that Wilson County will assume inspections in the Wilson County section of Sharpsburg. The Motion was seconded by Commissioner Sharpe.
DEPARTMENTAL REPORTS
Clifton Wallace, Utility Director read the Electric report. (Attached)

Robert Smith read the Water and Sewer report. (Attached)

Earnest Armstrong read the Streets and Sanitation report. (Attached)

Wanda Capps read the Parks and Recreation report. (Attached)

Chief Bissette read the Police Department report. (Attached)

Sonya Meeks, Town Administrator, read her monthly report.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Town Administrator, Sonya Meeks announced that the schedule for the Budget Workshops will be posted on the board in the Town Office by April 16, 2007.
ADJOURNMENT
Motion was made by Commissioner Sharpe to adjourn and the motion was seconded by Commissioner Pride.
