For the safety of our customers and employees, an emergency contingency action plan will immediately halt all retail operations until repairs are completed. Officials expect repairs will take four to seven days.

Customers are encouraged to visit the Elm City Post Office, 409 W. Main St., for retail transactions during normal business hours:8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.Monday,Wednesday,Friday;8 a.m.to 12Tuesday; and8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.Saturday.

P.O. Box customers may temporarily retrieve their mail from the rear entrance of the Sharpsburg Post Office.

Acting Post Office Operations Manager Robert Day apologizes for any inconvenience. “We appreciate your patience as we complete repairs,” he said. “The safety of our customers and employees is our top priority.”

The temporary closing will not impact mail delivery.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
