2019 Annual Drinking Water Quality Report
Town of Sharpsburg
May 1, 2020
NCPWS ID # 04-64-040
Congress enacted the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) in 1996 to include a provision that all community water systems deliver a brief annual water quality report or a “Consumer Confidence Report” (CCR). Because the Town of Sharpsburg is a community water supply system, the Town has prepared this CCR to include information on the source of water used, analyses that are conducted and the results of those analyses, and general information about the system.
This CCR presents information for the period January 1, 2019 through December 31 2019. Subsequent reports will be prepared and distributed on or before July 1 of the year following the calendar year of sampling.
We are pleased to inform you that our drinking water is safe meeting all federal and state requirements. The Town of Sharpsburg routinely takes water samples for various contaminants, some on a monthly schedule. These samples are taken to a certified water quality testing laboratory. We are required to monitor your drinking water for specific contaminants on a regular basis. Results of the monitoring are an indicator of whether or not your drinking water meets health standards. We are pleased to inform you that your drinking water does meet state and federal health standards.
