On January 30, 2020, Stevie Cox started as the Sharpsburg Town Administrator. Mr. Cox has worked in local government since 1996, when he was the Planning Coordinator for East Saint Louis, Illinois. For the past 24 years, he has worked in Illinois, North Carolina and Maryland as a department head and town manager/administrator. Most recently, he was the Wallace Town Manager.
Mr. Cox is a native of Clinton, North Carolina. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wake Forest University in Communications (1988) and a Master of Arts degree from St. Louis University in Urban Affairs (1994). In addition, Mr. Cox is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill – School of Government from the Community Development Academy (2004) and the Municipal Administration Course (2010).
Mr. Cox has been very involved in various civic, professional and social organizations in every community that he has served and lived in. He is currently serving on the Board of Directors of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill – School of Government Alumni Association for Municipal and County Administration Course. Mr. Cox is married to Robin Magee – Cox who is a 7th Grade Math teacher and they are the parents of one daughter who is a freshman at East Carolina University. Mr. Cox brings a great deal of passion and excitement as the new Sharpsburg Town Administrator. The Town Council looks forward to having Mr. Cox coming on board.
