Attention All Residents: Important Sewer System Notice
We are experiencing a catastrophic failure at the sewer pump station, and we urgently need your help to prevent further damage. This problem has been most prominent from the Foxridge Apts/Barnhill Ave area.
It has come to our attention that flushable wipes—along with all other types of wipes, including baby wipes, cleaning wipes, and disinfectant wipes—are being flushed down toilets. These wipes do not break down like toilet paper and are causing severe blockages and mechanical failures in the sewer system.
This is not only damaging critical infrastructure, but it is also putting the health and safety of our community and employees at risk.
Please do NOT flush any type of wipes, regardless of whether they are labeled "flushable." Dispose of all wipes in the trash, where they belong.
What you can do:
- Do NOT flush wipes or any other non-toilet paper items.
- Share this message with your neighbors, friends, and family.
- If you notice any issues with plumbing or sewer systems in your area, please report them immediately.
We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our city’s infrastructure running smoothly and preventing further damage to our sewer system.
Thanks,
Tracy H. Sullivan, CMC/NCCMC
