Senior Distribution and Collection Worker
Full time/40 hrs. per week
Salary negotiable based on experience
The Town of Sharpsburg is seeking a Senior Distribution and Collection Worker. The primary purpose of the position is to construct, operate, maintain and repair all water / sewer facilities and equipment. This position performs work engaged in the maintenance and repair of the water distribution and wastewater collection systems and serves as Operator in Responsible Charge for both systems. Work requires knowledge of the water and sewer system and customer service policies in identifying problems, responding successfully to water leaks, meter malfunctions, sewer clogs, and other similar customer service issues. Work also requires skilled trades work in the maintenance and repair of water and sewer pumping stations. Performs inspection services on all water/sewer system equipment and facilities to determine maintenance needs and establish priorities for repair and maintenance. Must have knowledge of standard practices, methods, and procedures used in collection and distribution system maintenance. Must be able to operate a vac truck, backhoe and other equipment as required. Must be a high school graduate or equivalent with some experience preferred.
Possession of a valid North Carolina Commercial driver's license. Possession of collection system operator level II certificate and/or distribution system operator level C certificate is preferred.
